Our Return to Switzerland on a Budget

Missy and I have been fortunate enough to have traveled all around the globe and personally the one country that seems to rise to the top as my favorite is still the little, yet giant country of Switzerland.  They’re not known for their cuisine or affordability, but the jaw dropping peaks and natural beauty blows me away every time we get into the mountains.  J.R.R. Tolkien would understand my sentiment.  The mountains of Switzerland inspired the scenery of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.  Okay, okay, I promised Missy I wouldn’t write multiple blogs gushing over my love of Switzerland, but I did want to have you follow our journey back to Switzerland.  This time with a baby and during high tourism season.

Switzerland is famous for the beauty of the Alps, world class skiing and unfortunately, for being expensive.  In fact, there are few places that are more expensive than Switzerland.  BUT, we are here to show you can travel there and still do it affordably.  In fact, we will be doing this in the middle of high ski season at one of the most expensive ski resort villages, not just in Switzerland, but in the world.

What are you to expect on this journey? Each piece will go into detail on booking the essentials

  • Airfare
  • Lodging
  • Transportation

When we arrive, we will discuss how we successfully eaten and drank affordably, how to do activities on the cheap (skiing, hiking, etc.) and as parents, how the heck do you do all this with a baby?

We’re excited to be traveling back and to share the journey with you.  The goal is to inspire those who are leery to travel because of the perceived cost and with our experience and having the perspective of life is short, we hope this helps get those people to take that leap.  Traveling has changed our lives for the better and want that for you as well.

Stay tuned, we go into the deals we found on airfare and lodging.  During the high ski season, I’m still shocked some of these deals popped up.
